The name Faded-Suns.net was inspired by the title of a science fiction book I read a while ago: The Faded Sun Trilogy.

The books are written by C.J. Cherryh and were published by DAW Books between 1978-1979 and as an omnibus in 1987 and 2000. It's a great read and still available via Penguin Books if you want to have a go at it.

As I like to play around with old SUN workstations and servers, the connection with the title of the book was quickly made and all that was left was registering the domain name and setting up a website.

The site is about collecting bits of information on my SUN workstations, Linux and networking and keeping them together in a way that is slightly more accessible then a bunch of paper notes and what not!
